In the morning, I will be heading out to Iowa for the wedding. After our wedding on Friday, Andrea and I will be in Italy for two weeks, so I will not be responding to emails until after September 1st.

Yesterday was the primary election here in Colorado. Turnout appeared to be particularly dismal as usual. When I showed up to vote at 12:30, I was the second Democrat and seventh voter overall at my precinct. Admittedly, there were no contested races, so there wasn't much incentive to go vote, but it's still pretty sad nonetheless.
After voting, I continued running a bunch of errands for the wedding. It was a nice day, so I walked to all of the errands and, looking at the map, I figure I walked somewhere between eight and nine miles yesterday. I'm definitely enjoying the time off right now where I can afford to take three hours to run my errands instead of being rushed everywhere.

This afternoon I was laid off by TimeCentre. I had given my two weeks notice of my resignation on Monday, so the timing was not all bad. I will now get an extra week of vacation before heading to Des Moines for the wedding on August 14.
At this point I can also announce that, starting September 5th, I will be working for Fujitsu Consulting here in Denver. I was actually offered the position at the end of June, but we chose to delay my start date until after the wedding to make the logistics easier.
At this point, I'm looking forward to getting married and then coming home and starting a new job after our honeymoon to Italy.
