  • apatters 5/27/200411:19 AM This is a really cool app. I have been looking for a weather program for my pocket pc for a long time and came across this one on the Handango site. By the way, Handango still has the 1.1 release and not the latest 2.0. I have got one request. Don't know if you have played around with today screen apps but it would be great to have the extended forcast to be on the today screen with a link to your existing software if you tap on a particular day. I know that apps exist like stocks and weather and journal bar but they are not as clean as your app. Of course this would not be free and I would be willing to pay if you could come up with this. I like journal bars layout but I don't like all of the other added stuff that I don't use. Just want a weather app for the today screen. But anyway, this app is great and thank you for coming up with it.

Weather Info 1.1

Monday, May 24, 2004 12:16 PM

I've released Weather Info 1.1.  This update is available on my software page and at Handango.  Weather Info 1.1 fixes a bug where the application would crash on startup on a Windows Mobile 2003 device.  Evidently the event sequence that is fired in .NET on form startup is different in Windows Mobile 2003 than in Pocket PC 2002.  Please let me know if you find any other problems at support@s-church.net.

Weather Info Error

Wednesday, May 19, 2004 9:29 AM

Thanks to everyone for reporting the bug in Weather Info.  I am currently on vacation in New York and New Jersey for my sister's graduation.  I will fix the bug as soon as I get back on Monday morning.  Thanks for your patience.

Snow?!?

Thursday, May 13, 2004 9:23 AM

Someone definitely didn't get the message that it was supposed to be summertime.  I woke up to a half inch of snow on the ground and a near blizzard this morning.  Two days ago it was 84 degrees!  While this is not unheard of in Colorado around this time of year, I think Mother Nature needs to make up its mind as to what season it is.

Site Update

Tuesday, May 11, 2004 6:26 PM

By now, I'm sure you've noticed that I just completed a major facelift to my site.  The front page now shows the most recent journal entry and the most recent photo addition.  I've also added a new menu to the front page and retooled the header on all of the pages.  I hope you like all of the changes.  Let me know what you think!

Toronto and D.C.

Tuesday, May 11, 2004 10:20 AM

Andrea and I went to Toronto, ON and Washington D.C. on the weekend of April 23-25.  In Toronto, we had dinner at the 360 Restaurant at the top of the CN Tower on Friday night.  The CN Tower is the world's tallest building at 1,815 ft tall.  Then on Saturday we went to see Casa Loma and the Hockey Hall of Fame before driving back to Buffalo.  Sunday we were in Washington, D.C. for the March for Womens' Lives.  It was definitely an eye opening experience as there were over a million people on the National Mall for the demonstration.  It was definitely a whirlwind weekend, but it was a lot of fun.  You can see pictures from the trip on my photo page.

Weather Info Released

Tuesday, May 4, 2004 4:39 PM

I developed the Weather Info program because I wanted a way to get the current weather and an extended forecast on my Pocket PC. The weather data comes from the ejse.com web service and is cached so the data will still display if the device does not have an internet connection.  I plan on entering Weather Info in the Code Project .NET Compact Framework contest. Weather Info can be found on my Other Projects page.
